Street Pastor

The Street Pastor movement is an inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to listen and care.  It’s a three-way scheme, in which churches (under the mantle of the Ascension Trust), local police and councils all work together, in areas right across the UK.

July 2010 saw the launch of Street Pastors in Chandler’s Ford. Volunteers from the local churches walked out onto the streets to talk with, listen to and offer practical help to the people they met. Since then, on Friday nights, a team has gone out on the streets of Chandler’s Ford.

As our area is a mainly residential area, the majority of our contacts are with the young people of the area. So, we visit the areas where young people congregate – Hiltingbury Rec, Velmore, Fryern Rec, Freespace and Knightwood.

If you see us out on a Friday night, please come and talk to us; it would be great to meet you.
