Every Tuesday, 10am-11.30am, in the Frith Hall

Bring your own hobby with you

Since September 2012, we have been running a Craft Group which began with 8 ladies from this church, but now includes at least 12 other members from the Community, and we’ve met weekly except the two weeks over each Christmas period. (Men welcome too.).

Crafts have been individual choices such as card-making, bead work, tapestry, 'posh' bag-making and knitting everything from baby clothes, toys, scarves, hats for the special baby unit and seafarers. Judging by the noisy chatter, many of the members enjoy the company and have made new friends. Anyone is welcome to look in at the Frith hall on a Tuesday morning to see what goes on; we're a friendly bunch. There is no tuition as such but often handy tips and demonstrations are passed between us.

Until the end of 2015. we collected 50p per person, towards drinks, biscuits, heat and light , but the group has valiantly agreed since to make the subscription £1, as a result of which we have contributed over a thousand pounds to such charities as Basics Bank, BLESMA, Nepal Earthquake Appeal, Down's Syndrome Education, Hants & IOW Air Ambulance, Eastleigh Young Carers, Macular Degeneration Research, Crisis at Christmas and Yemen Famine Appeal.
